Cultural Heritage in Teaching – A Creative Approach
The HEART project (2022–2024) has developed a practical toolbox filled with methods and materials that help bring intangible cultural heritage into teaching in creative ways. The tools include writing exercises, drama methods, and many other tips that show how cultural heritage can be an engaging theme in various learning and teaching contexts.

Our recources for teaching are aimed at association volunteers and workers, teachers, and Skaftuki contact persons who plan educational programs. It contains seven sections—some specifically intended for the organizers of association-based training, and others for teachers. We recommend exploring all sections if you’re interested in planning educational activities within associations.

Equality and Equity in Teaching
This material includes three sections that approach equality and equity from different perspectives, all essential to facilitation and teaching.
- The first section includes information on legislation.
- The second invites you to reflect on and recognize identities, biases, and privileges—your own and others’.
- The third section focuses on creating an inclusive organisational culture and preventing as well as addressing harassment and discrimination.

Teaching and Facilitating Online
This guide is intended for all teachers and facilitators planning to teach online. The instructions focus on digital formats for Kansalaisfoorumi-supported courses and study groups, but the tools can also be adapted for other uses such as informal meetings and collaborative group planning online.

Resource Bank for Educators of Active and Democratic Citizens
The Active and Democratic Citizenship (ADEKA) project (2018–2020) collected and created materials that support the development of knowledge, skills, and attitudes essential for active and democratic citizenship. The materials are especially designed for liberal adult education institutions and were produced with special funding from the Finnish Ministry of Education and Culture.
