Special Climate Change (2024)
Study Centre Citizens’ Forum and Sjiraffen Kultur- og Kompetansesenter (Sjiraffen) from Norway will carry out a student exchange project funded by Nordplus Adult program from May 1 to November 30, 2024. Finnish Amateur Theatre Association is partner in the project.
Special Climate Change -project enables adult disabled theatre students from Finland and Norway to learn together in an international setting. Through joint theatre workshops in Trondheim, focused on climate change, and a performance at the Climate Festival in October 2024, students will develop acting skills, communication abilities, and cultural understanding.
The exchange offers a unique learning opportunity where students gain confidence, improve verbal and non-verbal communication, and experience collaboration across borders. Teachers will also learn how to better support disabled students in international mobility, enhancing future educational practices.
By focusing on learning and inclusion, the project empowers participants, strengthens collaboration between Finnish and Norwegian theatre groups, and demonstrates the transformative power of education in fostering equality and addressing societal issues.
