Accessibility in the Citizens’ Forum’s training facilities

When coming to workshops and trainings, you can enter at Käenkuja 1B.

The door is at street level. It is is not automatic. If needed, a person can come open the door. You can ask the person mentioned in the participant information letter for help. The lift is accessible and spacious. You can also request to enter the training area by the stairs.

The training room is on the second floor. The kitchen is next to the room. The toilet is on the corridor next to the kitchen. There are no thresholds between the training room, kitchen, and toilet. The accessible toilet has a ramp over the threshold.

You can also enter from Hämeentie 19. The door is not automatic. If needed, a person can come open the door. You can ask the person mentioned in the participant information letter for help. You will have to use one ramp to enter the building.

There is another ramp inside the building, leading to the lift lobby on the first floor. The lift in the lobby is narrow. There is an accessible toilet in the lobby.

The access is barrier free, there is a ramp at the front door. The front door is heavy but starts to open automatically when pulled. The front door (floor 0) is open, its opening button is only in use Mon–Fri 8.00–20.00. At other times, the front door is locked. The width of the entrance door is 93 cm. The adjacent door can also be opened if necessary, making the width 186 cm.

The interior doors of the entrances to the training centre (1st and 2nd floor) are also always locked, but when there is course going on, the person mentioned in the participation information letter will open the doors.

Training facilities are located on three floors. There is an accessible toilet on the 2nd floor. There is a spacious elevator with doorway width approx. 105 cm. The elevator can only be used between the floors of the educational institution with the instructor’s access token.

In the largest training facilities (Tieto, Montaasi) there is plenty of room for moving for instance with a wheelchair. The doors of the classrooms have thresholds of 3 cm. The doors of the classrooms are 90 cm wide.

The access is barrier-free, there is a ramp at the front door. On the front door there is a button for opening the door outside and inside. At the entrance door, the inner door of the wind cabinet has a threshold with a ramp on both sides. The door is locked outside office hours and the instructor allows participants in.

There is an elevator at one end of the lower lobby, in the middle of the lobby there are three stairs and a ramp next to them.

There are a total of 8 training facilities on the first and second floors. All are wheelchair accessible.

There is an accessible toilet near the front door. Toilets on other floors are not accessible.
