Member services

We are a competent partner in operational development, projects and advocacy.

We support you when planning and organising trainings or study groups. We provide training materials, financial support and tailored training. We often use art-based training methods.

Together we can

  • learn new things
  • harness creativity
  • be encouraged to act!

All member organisations of the Citizens’ Forum and their member associations are entitled to our membership services. If your association is a member of one of the following organisations, you are entitled to our services:

Subscribe to our membership newsletter

We publish a membership letter about 6 times a year. The letter contains current news and information about our upcoming events and trainings. Subscribe to the letter to your email here.

Financial support for study and training activities

We offer financial support for organising courses and study groups. You can apply for support in the Skaftuki service.

The forms of support are:

Pedagogical support for study and training activities

Free services for members

As our member, we can help you plan courses and study groups and find competent trainers and lecturers. In addition, we help develop online courses and pedagogy. You can also familiarise yourself with the open Instructions and tools for implementing online training material (in Finnish) in the Peda.net environment.

You can ask us for sparring help and advice during the planning phase of various study and development processes.

We issue digital badges (The link leads to a Finnish page) to make the competence accumulated in organisational activities visible. We also support the development of open badges in member organisations.

Free or member-priced training

You will receive a membership discount from our open courses.

You can enquire about free short workshops of a few hours on organisational activities, digital skills and communication at the Citizens’ Forum. Where possible, we always implement them on a case-by-case basis.

Read the workshop descriptions (in Finnish).

We are happy to support our member organisations with workshops on current themes. So, you can also inquire about workshops on other topics.

Our staff can provide training tailored to the needs of our members. In addition, we can facilitate various processes, for example in events aimed at developing the community’s activities.

Commissioned training and services are agreed on a case-by-case basis. Send a request for quotation to Education Manager Anna Kirstinä: anna.kirstina@kansalaisfoorumi.fi.

Publications

We produce printed and electronic guides and materials for NGO actors and trainers. Some of the materials are completely free of charge. Materials (mostly in Finnish) can be found in the Publications page, on Peda.net and on the Kansalaisyhteiskunta.fi website.

Cooperation for cultural events

We cooperate in organising cultural events as a partner of our member organisations, according to priorities decided annually. Financial event cooperation takes place annually in 2–4 events. Financial event cooperation is applied for in the autumn for the following calendar year. We also collaborate on the content of cultural events without financial support: you can request a workshop or a functional stand as a member service.

Myllertämö development grant

The Citizens’ Forum grants member organisations the Myllertämö development grant (The link leads to a Finnish page), which is intended for the development of educational activities. The thematic priorities of the grant are decided annually. Development aid is applied for in the autumn for the following calendar year.

Development and project cooperation

We invite our member organisations to joint development work that serves them, such as a study of the perceived effects of cultural hobbies (The link leads to a Finnish page), service design sparring and a day for member organisations.

Our members have the opportunity to participate in our development projects. Member communities can also ask the Citizens’ Forum to partner in their own project or other development activities.

Communication cooperation

The national events of member organisations and member associations supported by the Citizens’ Forum are shared in the event calendar on our website.

TWe write about training and association activities in the publications of our member organisations.
