Equality and equity plan
The Citizens’ Forum is committed to promoting equality and equity in all our activities. This operational equality and non-discrimination plan is a tool for the entire work community. The entire staff is jointly responsible for ensuring that the organisation operates equally.
The operational equality and equity plan for 2025–2027, will guide the organisation’s educational activities, the development of the work community and community interaction. The plan is based on legislation, such as the Equality Act and the Non-Discrimination Act.
The purpose of the Equality Act is to prevent gender-based discrimination and to promote equality between women and men. The purpose of the Act is also to prevent discrimination based on gender identity or gender expression.
According to the Non-Discrimination Act, no one may be discriminated against on the basis of age, origin, nationality, language, religion, belief, opinion, political activity, trade union activity, family relationships, state of health, disability, sexual orientation or any other reason related to the person.
The aim of the plan is to ensure that all participants feel that they have been treated equally at all stages of the training. Particular attention is paid to the accessibility, inclusivity and safe learning environment of education.
The Citizens’ Forum is committed to continuous evaluation and development. The implementation of the plan is monitored regularly and it is updated every three years. This ensures that equality and equity are realised in practice in all activities.
