Citizens’ Forum’s Strategy 2025–2027 and Rules

The strategy guides of Citizens’ Forum’s work and annual priorities to help us achieve our goals as an educational institution for organizations and a supporter of civil society.

Mission

We strengthen cultural education and civil society and enable arts-based and communal learning.

Values

• Creativity: We emphasize creative and arts-based methods. We support creative learning within our member organizations. We nurture creativity in our work, making space for experimentation and new approaches.
• Peer Learning: Peer learning forms the foundation for respectful collaboration and democracy. Our training programs enable peer learning—learning equally from one another. Peer learning thrives when we uphold equality and equity. As a work community and together with our members, we develop our activities by learning from each other.
• Eco-social Education: The goal of eco-social education is to live responsibly, moderately, and compassionately to ensure the sustainability of life on Earth. We are part of nature and responsible for it. Our training programs encourage critical reflection on established practices. In education, we consider emotions, embodiment, and sensory experiences.
• Cultural Civic Engagement: We strengthen democracy within cultural associations. The courses and study groups we support offer opportunities to learn through creative activities, express oneself, and practice civic skills.

Vision 2027

Through education, we build a sustainable and compassionate future together. We support our member organisations and serve as an inspiring connector. The impact and transformative power of cultural education are highly valued in Finland.

Sustainability in Action

We strive to grow as sustainable actors. Sustainability is embedded in everything we do—it is reflected in our words and actions. As an educational institution, we support and nurture pedagogy that enables transformative learning and fosters hope.

Strength from Our Community

We deepen our collaboration with our members, walking alongside them in the development and implementation of their activities. Our members are an essential part of our learning center’s core identity—we create meaningful and impactful educational activities together across Finland.

A Voice for Education

We recognize the impact and significance of our work in everyday life and communicate it clearly. Together with our members, we highlight the role of associations in strengthening democracy. We actively advocate for study center activities and cultural education. Our message gains strength through collaboration.

Creative Energy for Development

We make space for creativity in our institution and ways of working. We nurture shared enthusiasm and encourage collective development. This forms the foundation for sustainable change.
